The day before the Easter Holiday weekend, we conducted an Easter egg hunt for the students. There was one bag (full of bubbles and a treat) for each student and 5 plastic eggs.
The students were told to only grab 5 eggs.As they grabbed an egg they counted out loud the number they had placed in their bag.
These are the bags the students used during the egg hunt. They decorated their bags and were told to line them up along the wall.
Once all the bags were lined up, the teacher asked the students to pick up and move their bag one at a time.
Half way through, the students realized the sequence:
- Cool Blue
- Dark Blue
- Orange
- 2 Green
- Pink
- 2 Red
The students we able to predict the next color in the sequence, count the total amount of each color shown, state the color that was most common, and the least common color as a whole.
During centers, the students worked on a coloring page, played Easter bingo, and danced the Bunny Hop and played an Easter version of musical chairs using hula hoops.
